The quality of our staff, their commitment to the care and nurturing of children, their operation as professionals and their growth as a unified team are some of our greatest strengths. Arise has developed a local reputation for being a caring community and this has largely been earned as a result of the efforts of the staff.
The leadership staff at Arise Christian College have over 20 years experience as educators in Christian Schools, including many years working with students who have struggled academically. All of our staff are well equipped with prior experience in Learning Support and Special Education.

This recognition honours her outstanding contribution to Christian education, her commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs, and her heart for seeing every young person grow in confidence, character, and faith. Brant Maslen
Brant has over 30 years’ experience in faith-based education, serving in executive leadership, wellbeing, and curriculum roles across diverse school settings—including special education, single-sex, and co-educational environments. Recognised nationally for his contribution to teaching and services to youth, he has also presented at key educational conferences and held strategic roles at both school and system levels.
Cathy Wanganga
Cathy has over 25 years’ experience in Christian schooling, teaching K-10 students across a variety of schools. For the last 12 years she has had a coordinator role with a major focus being on curriculum development across Primary. Cathy has also had roles in staff coaching and development. She loves reading, walking and exploring new places in God’s amazing world.
Rachel Boardman
Rachel has worked in both MCS and ACC for over 10 years, in various roles across both schools, including Learning Support , Science Lab Assistant, Curriculum and Administration. Rachel loves working at Arise Christian College with the teachers and staff, who are so passionate about teaching and supporting the students. Arise is a beautiful, small school with a wonderful sense of community and belonging for students and staff members. It is such a privilege to see the students grow in confidence and ability year after year.
